CME Newsletter #1
Management of Overactive BladderOveractive bladder (OAB) is a common condition that has a significant impact on patient quality of life in both males and females. However, it is still underdiagnosed and undertreated. Over the past few years there has been a significant increase in the number of antimuscarinic agents available for treating OAB. The Urology University CME Newsletter presents the similarities and differences between these agents, allowing for well informed decision-making about therapy approaches. Additionally, combined use of behavioral therapy and pharmacologic therapy improves therapeutic outcomes and should be discussed with all suitable patients with OAB. Proactive management of adverse effects and the setting of proper expectations may help improve adherence to therapy.
